Maintaining a Heather Moor
|Date:||Tuesday 22 May 2018, 7:00pm - Tuesday 22 May 2018, 9:30pm|
|Venue:||Hives and Honey Pavilion, Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate|
Simon Bostock, a landowner at Dallowgill will be talking about maintaining a heather moor.
The event is being held at the Hives and Honey Pavilion on the Showground of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society in Harrogate.
To get there by car, turn off Hookstone Drive onto Hookstone Wood Road (postcode HG2 8PN). Proceed down a straight section of road with houses on the left and woodland on the right until you come to a junction, where you should follow the road around to the right. The fence of the Showground is now on the left and woods on the right. After about 100m the squash club building is on the left hand side and the road crosses a more open area. Keep on the road, passing a parking area on the right and a road to a main vehicle gate to the Showground on the left (known as the 'Blue Gate').
Shortly beyond the Blue Gate there is a double gate (the 'Education Gate') and an adjoining pedestrian gate that opens onto a track leading into the Showground and the rear of the Hives and Honey Pavilion. Access to this gate is across an area of rough ground. Car parking is generally on this rough ground, outside the gate, with limited space in front of the pavilion for people bringing equipment. In the dark, a white notice can be seen either side of the Education Gate.
Bringing a torch is highly recommended.
